Mahfud MD Gives Speech To Prabowo-Gibran After The Constitutional Court Decision: Congratulations On Work

JAKARTA - Vice Presidential Candidate number three, Mahfud MD congratulates Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka who is the presidential and vice presidential candidate who won the 2024 presidential election.

This was conveyed by Mahfud of the Constitutional Court (MK) rejecting the 2024 presidential election dispute lawsuit which was read out today, Monday, April 22. He said, in a sporting manner, he and Ganjar accepted the judge's decision.

"Therefore, we must sportyly accept this Constitutional Court decision. Mas Ganjar and I accept this decision and congratulate Pak Prabowo and Mas Gibran on this decision," Mahfud said at a press conference at the Ganjar-Mahfud Command Post, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Monday, April 22.

"And good job. Hopefully this country will get better," he continued.

Mahfud asked all parties to be relieved of the decision that had been submitted. "That is our most important statement, we accept this decision and good luck working, let's take care of this country as well as possible," said the former Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs.

He also said that the decision read by the Constitutional Court was a sign of the end of the 2024 presidential election in a legal way. Because, there are no further legal remedies that can be made.

"Because the results of the (dispute, red) presidential election are only determined by the Constitutional Court," he said.

As previously reported, the Constitutional Court rejected the request of the Ganjar-Mahud camp regarding the Dispute over the General Election Results (PHPU) of the President and Vice President 2024.

"Reject the applicant's application in its entirety," said Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Suhartoyo.

There are three constitutional judges who state dissenting opinion in this decision. They are Saldi Isra, Enny Nurbaningsih, and Arief Hidayat.

The Ganjar-Mahfud camp has submitted a request for the Constitutional Court to disqualify candidate pair number two, namely, Parbowo-Gibran to be qualified.

There are several arguments in the petition submitted, such as allegations of ethical violations during the 2024 presidential election. Then, President Joko Widodo's nepotism action was carried out.

In addition, there are also allegations regarding the occurrence of coordinated abuse of power in all levels of government, and alleged violations of election procedures that occurred before the voting process that occurred in SIREKAP.
