Two men suspected of stealing a water barrier at Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta were caught on camera by residents and went viral on social media.

Seen in the video, the perpetrators numbered two people using one motorbike. One of the men got off the motorbike and then casually took an orange water barrier. The large object made of plastic was gossiped by one hand and then dragged away, when the perpetrator left the location.

Pasar Minggu Police Chief, Kompol Anggiat Sinambela confirmed the incident. However, regarding the allegations of theft, he made sure it was not true.

"He borrowed from the officer. The water barrier was borrowed," Anggiat said when confirmed, Monday, April 22.

Anggiat explained that the two people borrowed a water barrier for Kartini Day at the Ragunan camp, South Jakarta.

"The officer's permission is there. So there are activities at the Ragunan Campground Hill. The person borrowed, because yesterday there was a Srikandi activity," he said.

Anggiat admitted that he was disappointed with the circulation of the video. This is because the narrative that was created seemed as if the two perpetrators had committed theft.

"It's as if the theft was not permission. But this is a permit. He borrowed from the officer. The water barrier is now at the Polsek," he concluded.
