PPP Did Not Pass To Parliament, Mardiono: I Will Account For The World Of The Hereafter

Plt Chairman of PPP Muhamad Mardiono stated that he would take full responsibility for the failure of his party in the 2024 election. As a form of accountability, Mardiono promised to bring PPP through to Parliament.

It is known that PPP is currently filing a lawsuit for the 2024 election dispute at the Constitutional Court (MK). PPP is fighting for the 200.000 votes lost so that it can meet the parliamentary threshold of 4 percent.

In the 2024 election, PPP only got 3.87 percent of the vote. PPP claims to reduce the party's votes due to migration to other parties.

"I am very responsible. I will be responsible for this in the afterlife," said Mardiono at the ROSSI 1st episode in History, Parliament without PPP broadcast on Kompas TV's YouTube channel, Thursday, April 18, evening.

"As a PPP cadre born from below, I started to put my feet in national politics, not in other parties, I set my feet on PPP," he said.

Mardiono emphasized that PPP's efforts at the Constitutional Court to pass the party back to the Parliament were part of its accountability.

"That's part of accountability," he said.

However, Mardiono was reluctant to confirm whether he would also bring PPP to join the Prabowo-Gibran government coalition. If later the Constitutional Court decides PPP passes to Parliament.

He only said that until now PPP is still in good communication with political parties in the United Indonesia Coalition. Especially Golkar and PAN. According to him, the question of joining or not cannot be decided by PPP itself.

"Communication continues to connect in the context that we join or not, not born in one direction," he said.
