Mardiono Didn't Expect PPP For The First Time In History Not Passed To The DPR

Plt Chairman of PPP Muhamad Mardiono did not expect his party to qualify for Parliament in the 2024 General Election. PPP failed to enter Senayan after getting 3.87 percent of the vote.

This failure is the first experience in history after 11 times the Kaaba Party participated in the election. Currently, PPP is filing a lawsuit with the Constitutional Court (MK) because it has evidence of a reduction in the votes of its party to 200 thousand votes.

"So even though at that time we thought this was a necessity that had to happen but there was indeed a surprise, because before the election we had prepared well, including we still believe from the vote acquisition that we summarize at the center of our national tabulation, we can still get more than 4 percent," said Mardiono in the first episode of ROSI in History, Parliament without PPP broadcast on the Kompas TV YouTube channel, Thursday, April 18, evening.

Mardiono admitted that he saw an oddity in the vote counting process through Sirekap. "Then in the implementation of the vote count, we saw that there was a real count and Sirekap KPU we tended to go up and down, and finally, after we experienced a decline on the third day we were in position 3.8 then rose 3.9 then rose again to 4.02-4.04 percent then Sirekap died no longer circulating," he said.

Although the KPU refers to manual vote counting, Mardiono said PPP saw an irregularity in Sirekap because it disappeared ahead of the final vote count.

"While we believe that the KPU is increasingly sophisticated, we have been holding elections since this country's independence, of course the KPU as the election organizer already has sophisticated preparations," he added.

Mardiono confirmed that he did not expect PPP not to qualify for Parliament. Because the national tabulation trend of PPP votes is still above 6 million.

Mardiono agrees that a number of survey institutions have given 'warning' through the prediction that PPP will not qualify for Parliament because it is below the 4 percent threshold. However, his party still insists that the results of the PPP vote could change during the election.

Moreover, Mardiono said, PPP had prepared itself from a long time ago. In addition, he is also diligent in going directly to the regions to socialize the Kaaba Party.

"Over a year, since I replaced Mr. Suharso Monoarfa, I have always gone to the field and even many areas have never previously been visited by the ketum. I came down from Aceh to Papua. PPP is a party that still exists in grassroots, in urban districts evenly from Aceh until our Papua is still strong," he said.

Although the trend of vote acquisition has decreased from year to year, Mardiono emphasized that PPP is still in demand by voters in the 2024 election. This is evidenced by

"At the district/city level, we experienced an increase in votes, including the seats in 93 regencies/cities and even cities that have a significant number of council leaders," said Mardiono.

"But nationally, I want to say that PPP is not left by voters, if it is not chosen by our constituents, then in the area it does not get a seat," he concluded.
