LSI Survey: Public Trust In The AGO Skyrockets Up To 74 Percent

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) noted that the level of public trust in the Attorney General's Office (AGO) has increased significantly by up to 74 percent.

"The courage of the Prosecutor's Office in dismantling large cases and high profiles has received public appreciation and support," said LSI Executive Director Djayadi Hanan when presenting the results of a survey entitled Public Attitude towards the KPU's Decision, Court Trial, and National Issues monitored online from Jakarta, Thursday, April 18, was confiscated by Antara.

In LSI's findings, the public trust of the Prosecutor's Office in February 2024 was only 67 percent. Now, in the latest findings, the figure is 74 percent.

According to him, the courage of the Prosecutor's Office in investigating mega corruption cases has generated a lot of support from the community.

Djayadi gave an example of a mining corruption case at PT Timah, with a loss value of IDR 271 trillion.

"The courage of the Prosecutor's Office in investigating high-profile cases, causing heavy losses, supersize, of course, raises public support and trust," he said.

He said that in addition to the value of state losses which reached Rp271 trillion, the dragging of the names of a number of celebrities also made the public look more closely at the performance of the Prosecutor's Office.

"In large cases, high profile and supersize, the public sees the Prosecutor's Office as serious and brave. The Attorney General is also considered by the public to have the courage to investigate major cases," concluded Djayadi.

The LSI survey is in the period 7 to 9 April 2024 with 1,213 respondents interviewed by telephone.

The margin of error is estimated at approximately 2.9 percent at the 95 percent confidence level.
