LSI: People Support The Attorney General's Office To Poor Corruptors In Tin Cases

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) found that 39.9 percent of the community supports the Attorney General's Office to impoverish tin corruption perpetrators who cost the state Rp271 trillion.

LSI Executive Director Djayadi Hanan said as many as 40.1 percent of the public knew about the prosecutor's efforts to investigate tin cases. This figure is quite high when compared to other cases.

"Of those who know, as many as 39.9 percent think that the appropriate sanctions for the parties involved are the confiscation of all their assets," said Djayadi when presenting the results of a survey entitled Public Attitude towards the KPU's Decision, Court Trial, and National Issues reported by ANTARA, Thursday, April 18.

The LSI survey is in the period 7 to 9 April 2024 with 1,213 respondents interviewed by telephone.

The margin of error is estimated at approximately 2.9 percent at the 95 percent confidence level.

According to Djayadi, in addition to confiscation of assets and assets, the public also considers life imprisonment as a proper sanction for tin corruption perpetrators. The figure reached 26.9 percent.

"The third most important is the sanction of revocation of business license. The figure reaches 8.6 percent," he said.
