Projo: Prabowo And Megawati Meeting Opportunities To Reconcile Political Elites

JAKARTA - General Chairperson of Pro-Jokowi Volunteers (Projo) Budi Arie Setiadi said that the plan to meet Prabowo Subianto with Megawati Soekarnoputri was one of the opportunities to bring together relations at the political elite level after the dynamics of the 2024 presidential election.

"We'll just have to wait. However, what is certain is that our principle is that we support national unity. Second, if the political elite is in harmony, it's also good, the people are also happy," said Budi Arie Setiadi at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, April 18.

Budi Arie wants all parties in dispute in the 2024 presidential election to return to harmony and Indonesia to be solid again as a unity country.

"If those who want to fight, if those who don't want to be united, go ahead. If we do, Indonesia wants to be solid as a national unity country," he said.

He said the 2024 presidential election was over and Projo was waiting for the results of the decision on the dispute over the results of the 2024 presidential election at the Constitutional Court (MK) which was scheduled to take place on April 22, 2024.

Budi Arie, who is also the Minister of Communication and Information Technology, believes that the Constitutional Court judge will not submit a controversial decision related to the case.

"We already know all the differences are too far away, there is no evidence," he said.

When asked about the possibility that General Chairperson of Gerindra Prabowo Subianto would bridge President Joko Widodo's meeting with PDI-P Chairman Megawati, Budi Arie said anything could happen in the political world.

"Yes, wait later, maybe all the possibilities if in politics there is nothing impossible because politics is the art of posibility," he said.

The plan for Prabowo's meeting with Megawati was previously conveyed by the Daily Chairperson of the Gerindra Party DPP Sufmi Dasco Ahmad in a press statement at the DPR building, Wednesday (17/4).

Sufmi Dasco said Prabowo and Megawati would meet after the Constitutional Court's decision regarding the presidential election.
