Mount Ruang Merletus, Residents Of Tagulandang, North Sulawesi Radius 6 Km Recommended To Be Evacuated

The Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG) issued a tsunami warning due to the collapse of the volcano into the sea after the attack of explosive eruptions accompanied by hot clouds occurred in Mount Ruang in Sitaro Regency, North Sulawesi.

The following are the full PVMBG recommendations quoted from the X account @PVMBG_, Wednesday, April 17

1. People around Mount Ruang, and visitors/tourists should remain vigilant and not crowded a 6 km radius area from the center of the active crater of Mount Ruang.

2. People living in the Tagulandang Island area which is within a 6 km radius should be immediately evacuated to a safe place outside the 6 km radius.
