PAMEKASAN - Pamekasan Police, East Java, examined 16 election organizers on February 14, 2024, related to the case of cutting the operational budget for polling stations (TPS) in a number of sub-districts in the area.

According to Pamekasan Police Chief AKBP Jazuli Dani Iriawan, the 16 election organizers consisted of the General Election Commission (KPU) of Pamekasan Regency, the head of the sub-district election committee (PPK), the KPU treasurer, and the head of the polling group (KPPS).

"The KPU that we have questioned is the chairman of the Pamekasan Regency KPU Halili, then the KPU treasurer, six PPK heads and eight KPPS heads," said AKBP Jazuli, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, April 17.

The police chief explained that the case of cutting TPS operational funds in the 2024 General Election was detected by officers after a member of the KPPS reported to the police because he did not accept the policy.

The amount of funds deducted is between Rp900 thousand and Rp1 million. For the truncated TPS, it is not burdened with the obligation to report the use of the financial budget.

Based on the initial mapping by officers, from the results of investigations in the field, the alleged cut in the operational costs of TPS occurred in five sub-districts, namely Larangan, Pakong, Palengaan, Proppo, and Pasean Districts.

"Of these five sub-districts, the total number of organizers that we have scheduled for examination is 56 people. However, so far only 16 people have been realized," he said.

As many as 40 other people, he continued, will be carried out in stages at the Pamekasan Police Headquarters.

Kabar yang beredar di kalangan institusi penyelenggara pemilu di Kabupaten Pamekasan menyebutkan cutasan anggaran TPS itu atas perintah KPU Kabupaten Pamekasan.

However, KPU chairman Halili denied the news. He said that the cuts were without the knowledge of the election organizers at the district level.
