Megawati Proposes To Be Amicus Curiae, Ganjar: The Momentum Of The Constitutional Court Does Not Make April Mop

JAKARTA - Presidential Candidate number three, Ganjar Pranowo hopes that the Panel of Judges of the Constitutional Court (MK) will decide the trial of the 2024 presidential election results fairly. The institution's mural needs to be returned after the ethical violation that ensnared former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Anwar Usman because it is considered to have helped Gibran Rakabuming Raka's candidacy as vice presidential candidate.

This was conveyed by Ganjar when asked about the writing of PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri, entitled "Amicus Curiae". He hoped that the Constitutional Court would not give an unexpected surprise when reading the verdict.

"I think the Constitutional Court's momentum is extraordinary not to make April Mop but to commemorate what a Kartini had done, after it was dark it was clear," said Ganjar at Megawati Soekarnoputri's residence, Jalan Teuku Umar, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, April 16.

Ganjar also hopes that Megawati's writing can serve as a warning to the Constitutional Court Judge. Moreover, all eyes are now on the institution.

"From the condition of the Constitutional Court which has been an insult, insult and stamps that are not good with the Constitutional Court's decision, it feels like this is the momentum to restore the dignity of the Constitutional Court," said the former Governor of Central Java.

Furthermore, Ganjar said that the writing made by the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia did not intend to influence or intervene with the judges in deciding cases. Because, they must have considerations.

"But as a court friend like other people, mother wrote down her thoughts including her opinion in Kompas Daily, I think everyone sees this situation," said Ganjar.

"I think everyone encourages this decision as fairly as possible with the facts. So that democracy can be maintained," he continued.

As previously reported, Megawati's writing was delivered by PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto who was accompanied by PDI-P DPP Chairman Djarot Saiful Hidayat and the Head of the Ganjar-Mahfud Legal Team, Todung Mulya Lubis to the Constitutional Court on Tuesday, April 16.

"I, Hasto Kristiyanto and Djarot Saiful Hidayat, were assigned by Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri with the following power of attorney to submit the opinion of a court friend from an Indonesian citizen, namely Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri," said Hasto, Tuesday afternoon.

The meaning of Amicus Curiae is a court friend or friends of court. In addition, this sentence can be interpreted as a party that feels an interest in a case so that it gives its legal opinion to the court.
