Submit Additional Evidence For The D Special Event Form, KPU Believes The Constitutional Court Is Objectively Assessed

The General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia submitted additional evidence in the form of a D for Special Events at the sub-district level throughout Indonesia to the Constitutional Court (MK).

RI KPU member Mochammad Afifuddin explained that the MK provides opportunities for all parties, both applicants (coots of candidates number 1 and 3), respondents (KPU), related parties (pairs of candidates number 2) or givers of information (Bawaslu) to submit additional evidence and conclusions.

"This is as requested by the Panel of Judges on the agenda of proving at the previous trial," Afif said in his statement, Tuesday.

He said the KPU as the Respondent had followed the entire process of dispute over the results of the general election (PHPU) or the 2024 election dispute in the Constitutional Court since the preliminary examination on March 27, 2024, until the stage of submitting the conclusion on April 16, 2024.

During the trial process, the KPU has provided answers containing rebuttals to all the arguments of the Petitioner's petition, both case 1 and case 2.

Based on the entire PHPU trial series, the KPU believes that the constitutional panel of judges will evaluate objectively based on the entire facts of the trial.

The Constitutional Court opened the stage of submitting conclusions in the handling of the PHPU case for the 2024 presidential election after the end of the trial stages of the case.

"We, the panel of judges, agree that there are things that still want to be submitted, even though this is the last trial, can be accommodated through conclusions," said Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Suhartoyo at the end of the follow-up trial of the 2024 presidential election PHPU case, Friday, April 5.

Suhartoyo said that the stages of submitting conclusions in the previous 2024 presidential election PHPU trial were not mandatory.

However, in the PHPU case for the 2024 presidential election, there are many different dynamics from before, so that the Constitutional Court accommodates the delivery of crucial things and the submission of files that are still lagging behind through these stages.
