PDIP Opens DKI Cagub Registration For Anyone, Interest?

JAKARTA - Chairman of the PDI-P Central Executive Board (DPP PDIP) Djarot Saiful Hidayat said his party would recruit a candidate for governor who would be promoted in the DKI Jakarta Pilkada openly for anyone.

Djarot said that anyone interested could register as a Jakarta cagub to the PDIP management at both the central and regional levels. Later, the party will screen the candidates with certain qualifications.

"The current Pilkada business, we are capturing with anyone. We are open, yes. Anyone who has the spirit to build Jakarta, has the ability, integrity, please register with the DPD, can go to DPC, or DPP," said Djarot at the MK building, Tuesday, April 16.

The mechanism for screening the stock exchange for candidates for governor-deputy governors carried out by PDIP is currently carried out openly. Because, according to Djarot, in principle future leaders also come from the people.

"Please register. We open the registration, then after that, screening and interviews will be carried out. Of course there are still many figures who can afford to bring Jakarta better," said Djarot.

Djarot admitted that PDIP does have potential cadres to be promoted in the 2024 DKI Jakarta Pilkada. One of the names that is widely known is Tri Rismaharini who is now the Minister of Social Affairs.

However, PDIP did not rule out the possibility of carrying regional heads for Jakarta from external figures. "We have a lot, apart from Mrs. Risma. There are many potential figures both from internal and external," he said.

As is known, the PDIP vote in this year's DKI DPRD legislative election has decreased compared to the previous legislative election. This has an impact on reducing the number of seats obtained by PDIP in the DKI DPRD.

In comparison, in the 2019 Legislative Election, PDIP has 25 seats in the Kebon Sirih parliament. However, based on the results of the 2024 Legislative Election, the conversion to seats in the DKI DPRD is only 15 seats.
