The Anniversary River Overflows, 2 Villages In Lebong Bengkulu Flood

The heavy rains that hit the Lebong Regency area, Bengkulu Province during Monday, April 15 to Tuesday, 16 morning caused two villages in Topos District to be flooded due to the overflow of the Concrete River in the local area. Military Commander 02 South Lebong Kodim 0409/Rejang Lebong Lieutenant One (Lettu) TNI Efrizal said the flood occurred at around 06.13 WIB. River Water Ketahun rose after last night's rain. "There are two villages in Topos Subdistrict that were affected by flooding this morning, namely Talang Donok Village and Teluk Dien Village. So far there have been no reports of casualties," said Efrizal, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday morning. He explained that the overflow of the Ketahun River caused 50 housing units in Talang Donok Village to be submerged, and for Teluk Dien Village there are two houses. As for agricultural areas, he said, at least seven hectares of rice fields containing rice plants have also been submerged, as well as other types of plants. "Currently the water has started to recede, residents assisted by Babinsa officers, Bhabinkamtibmas and village officials are doing mud cleaning due to flooding," he explained.

Meanwhile, to anticipate further flooding, he has gone to the field to urge residents who live in a number of villages along the Ketahun River, especially downstream to be vigilant, because it usually happens every year. "Throughout this year's Water Route to Embong Uram Village. Along the route in Talang Leak, Ujung Tanjung is vulnerable. If we reflect on a few years ago, the effect of Air Ketahun has been affected in the Talang Leak, Ujung Tanjung and Embong Uram areas," he said.
