Airlangga Hartarto: Halalbihalal Golkar Momentum For Reconciliation Of Political Parties

JAKARTA - Golkar Party Chairman Airlangga Hartarto said the Golkar Party's DPP Halalbihalal event which was attended by a number of political elites was a momentum for the reconciliation of political parties after the 2024 General Election.

"This momentum is also reconciliation for political parties, especially for parties that support Prabowo and Gibran. For those who haven't, we are open," said Airlangga in his remarks at the Golkar Party Halalbihalal event in Jakarta, Monday night.

This was conveyed by Airlangga when explaining the presence of the Acting Chairperson of the United Development Party (PPP) Muhammad Mardiono at the event. PPP is one of the political parties that carries the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md.

Mardiono seemed to smile when Airlangga mentioned his name. Mardiono sat right next to the Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Kaesang Pangarep.

"Mr. Muzani, yes, it is open to friendship. If the others depend on Mas Kaesang, it is next to him," said Airlangga, quoted by Antara.

Airlangga said that PPP was a political party that had built the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) with Golkar and the National Mandate Party (PAN).

"This is the reason why Mr. Mardiono was present because we have been together for two years, only in the end we separated a little. However, after February 14, everyone promised to rejoin," said Airlangga.

Meanwhile, the leadership of the political parties supporting Prabowo-Gibran who attended the halalbihalal event, including the General Chairperson of PANZulkifli Hasan, Secretary General of the Gerindra Party Ahmad Muzani. Chairman of the Crescent Star Party (PBB) Yursil Ihza Mahendra, and Secretary General of the Gelora Party Mahfuz Sidik.
