Yusril Yakin Prabowo-Gibran Wins At The Constitutional Court: No Second Stage Presidential Election, Just Wait For The Inauguration

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Legal Team Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Yusril Ihza Mahendra, said that the finalization of the conclusion of the dispute over the results of the 2024 presidential election is being carried out. This file will be submitted on Tuesday, April 16 to the Registrar of the Constitutional Court (MK) to be forwarded to the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court. "We are finalizing the conclusions of the two cases we face, namely from applicant I Anies-Muhaimin and applicant II Ganjar-Mahfud. This conclusion was signed by all members of the Prabowo-Gibran Defenders Team," Yusril told reporters, Sunday, April 14. Yusril believes that the Constitutional Court will cut off the petitum proposed by the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD camps without legal reasons. The panel of judges, he said, must have studied the main petition to the testimony of witnesses, including the four ministers who had been summoned. "We believe that the Constitutional Court will have the same attitude as us, the Prabowo-Gibran Defenders Team that all the petitums submitted by the two applicants have no legal basis and are not supported by the evidence that has been submitted openly in court," he said. "Therefore, we believe that the Constitutional Court will reject all the requests of the two applicants," continued Yusril. Yusril also believes that the Constitutional Court will declare the election of Prabowo-Gibran as a presidential and vice presidential candidate as stated by the General Elections Commission (KPU) legally valid. Thus, there will be no more re-voting. "Thus there will be no second stage presidential election, especially the re-presidential election without Prabowo-Gibran's participation or without Gibran's participation as requested by each applicant," said Yusril. "The results of the presidential election are declared final. The Indonesian nation is looking forward to the inauguration of the president and vice president on October 20, 2024," he said.

As previously reported, eight constitutional judges will hold a panel of judges (RPH) related to the 2024 presidential election dispute trial on April 16. This opportunity is also the deadline for submitting conclusions by the party in the case. Furthermore, the Constitutional Court will read out the decision of the 2024 presidential election dispute trial no later than April 22, 2024.
