Mancing Is Fun In The Riam Kanan Reservoir, 3 People Are Struck By Lightning

The Banjarmasin Basarnas together with a joint team evacuated three anglers suspected of being struck by lightning in the Riam Kanan Reservoir area, Banjar, South Kalimantan.

The head of the Banjarmasin Basarnas, Al Amrad, when confirmed, said that a total of four victims were suspected of being struck by lightning while fishing.

"Three people have been evacuated, while one other victim is still looking for suspected drowned in the vicinity of Riam Kanan Reservoir," he said.

He explained that based on residents' information, the four victims were fishing in the eye of the Virak Villak area, on Saturday (13/4) night.

'Not long after, the four victims were struck by lightning. Initially, two victims were rushed to the nearest hospital, while the other two victims were suspected of drowning in the reservoir,' he also said.

After receiving information that the two victims were missing, he said, the Banjarmasin Basarnas deployed personnel and immediately conducted a search around the Riam Kanan Reservoir.

Furthermore, Al Amrad said that at around 00.10 WITA, the joint team found the victim's body in the name of Sholihin who was stranded about 20-30 meters from a fishing place.

He said that currently personnel are still trying to find another victim who has not been found. The joint SAR team from the Banjarmasin Basarnas, the police, and the community conducted a sweep around the scene.

"We are still searching until midnight, hopefully another victim will be found soon," said Al Amrad.
