Welcoming Eid, Palembang City Government Cleans Ampera Bridge

The Government of Palembang City, South Sumatra cleared the Ampera Bridge to welcome Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijri.

The activity, which was carried out from Tuesday morning to noon, was even attended by the Acting (Pj) Mayor of Palembang, Ratu Dewa, who participated in directly inspecting the action to clean up the "wong kito" proud bridge.

"In addition to welcoming Lebaran, we also cleaned this bridge to prepare for Eid prayers at the Grand Mosque, whose congregations spill every year to the Ampera Bridge," said Ratu Dewa, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 9.

He added that he deliberately went directly to ensure that the performance of the PBK officers and the cleaning staff who sprayed him, and specifically in the middle of the spraying bridge, would be carried out on the night of the takbiran.

Cleaning is also carried out by cutting down the branches and trees around the fountain in the Great Mosque to beautify the city's face and provide comfort for residents who perform Eid prayers.

He also highlighted the point of the congestion area and asked the Transportation Service officers to map the congestion area.

"I ask the Transportation Agency, I want to make sure there are no congestion. All the points of the Great Mosque area were all smooth so that the congregation did not wait long and everything was well coordinated," he said.
