Deadly Accident At KM 58 Japek Toll Road, Police: 13 Victims Died In Identification Process

JAKARTA - Karawang Police Chief AKBP Wirdhanto Hadicaksono said that until now his party had evacuated 13 body bags to the Karawang Hospital. A total of 13 body bags were victims in a fatal accident involving three vehicles on the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) toll road this morning at around 07.04 WIB. "There are 13 body bags that have been evacuated that are currently in the identification process," said Wirdhanto in his official statement, Monday, April 8. Wirdhanto said the 13 body bags were all passengers in the Grandmax car. "For the time being in the Grandmax car no one survived, all died. And then it is currently being identified," he said. According to Wirdhanto, his party is currently conducting identification to find out who the victims died in the incident. "Currently, it is in the identification process. We make sure it is correct, because there are pieces that are intact but some of them are not intact. That's why they are still in the identification process," he said. Furthermore, he said, the owner of the vehicle was a resident of Matraman, East Jakarta, named Yanti Setyawan Budidarma. "We convey that there is a car plate number and the identity of the STNK from one car unit, namely the Grandmax vehicle with police number B 1635 BKT which is in the STNK with an identity on behalf of Yanti Setyawan Budidarma with the address Duren Street Number 16 RT 003/009 North Utan Kayu Village, Matraman District, East Jakarta," he said. He also appealed to relatives or family of the vehicle owner to come to the Karawang Hospital to be able to bring identity data to identify the victims. "Please relatives or relatives who know the family of the victim who owns the Grandmax vehicle can come directly to the information post at the Karawang Hospital," said Wirdhanto. "To identify more clearly the connection between post mortem and ante mortem or bring data as well, such as identity or fingerprints. Including, the characteristics of teeth and so on and blood types to identify the victims who are currently being identified," he added. As previously reported, as many as three vehicles were involved in an accident on KM 58 of the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) toll road while traffic engineering was being implemented contraflow today.

Based on a video uploaded by VOI on the X @manurtuwun social media account, Monday, April 8, the three vehicles involved were Terios and Grandmax against the Primajasa Bus. As a result, Terios and Grandmax vehicles were immediately burned to the ground at the scene.
