Hasto Kristiyanto To Jokowi: Dare To Promise Not To Take Over PDIP And Golkar?

The Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto challenged President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to promise not to take over the PDI-P and the Golkar Party. The former governor of DKI Jakarta should have dared to convey it in public if it was true.

This was conveyed by Hasto in response to President Jokowi's response regarding rumors of taking over the chair of the PDIP chairman. The number one person was confused because he was also rumored to be taking over the Golkar Party.

"Yes, Pak Jokowi just said he was surprised. We should have promised the people that the takeover of Golkar and PDI Perjuangan would not be carried out. That was the attitude we had been waiting for," Hasto told reporters quoted on Monday, April 8.

This attitude is considered wiser by President Jokowi, said Hasto. "I should (Jokowi, ed) promise that I will keep that after the leadership is over, I will not take over Golkar or PDI Perjuangan or before," he said.

"That would be more gentleman," added Hasto.

As previously reported, President Jokowi answered the news that he would take over the seat of PDIP General Chair from Megawati Soekarnoputri as conveyed by PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto. He had asked whether it had been rumored that he would seize the position of chairman of the Golkar Party.

"Not Golkar?" he said briefly answering reporters' questions at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, East Jakarta, Wednesday, April 3.

"He said he wanted to fight for Golkar, he said he wanted to fight. When everyone wants to be taken over. Don't be like that, don't be like that," continued President Jokowi.
