JAKARTA - Security officers at Semarang Tawang Station, Central Java, secured and returned the bag belonging to the travelers who were left in the station waiting room. This bag contains more than half a billion.

Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 4 Semarang Franoto Wibowo in Semarang, Monday, said the passenger bag of the Sembrani train bound for Jakarta was left in the waiting room when it was leaving on Sunday (7/4).

According to him, the incident began when one of the passengers reported to the officer because his bag was left in the waiting room of Semarang Tawang Station.

"Officers who received the report then combed around the passenger's waiting room found the bag left behind," he said, as reported by Antara.

After checking, he said, the bag did contain a number of valuables, such as metals starting and foreign currencies, whose value is estimated at IDR 510 million.

The bag, he said, was then returned to the owner who had arrived at his destination at Jakarta Gambir Station.

"The bag was entrusted to the Argo Bromo Anggrek train with an officer escort," he said.

Franoto appealed to passengers to focus more on their luggage when traveling by train.

"During the Eid 2024 transportation period, the station is crowded with passengers who will return home," he said.
