Prevent The Risk Of Fire When Homes Are Left Behind For Eid Homecoming Through These 5 Ways

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Disgulkarmat) reminded the public to prevent the risk of fires in uninhabited houses during Eid 1445 H homecoming.

The head of the DKI Jakarta Disgulkarmat said that the risk of fires is often forgotten and neglected when residents leave their homes for homecoming to their hometowns.

"Towards Eid al-Fitr, people's concentration is now focused on preparing for homecoming. When leaving the house, the potential for fires could occur, if the community did not anticipate it," said Satriadi in his statement, Sunday, April 7.

Therefore, Satriadi appealed to the public to prevent fires before Eid homecoming with the following steps:

1. Make sure the stove is dead, and don't forget to pull the gas regulator hose and close the gas cylinder tightly again.

2. Check the electrical installation in the house. Make sure to remove the cable and electrical equipment from the plug, and make sure all electrical sources are safe from flammable objects. Change your electrical equipment immediately if it is peeled or damaged.

3. Make sure to leave the house in a closed window, the lights turn off, and the door to the house has been locked.

4. Leave the house to a reliable person and report homecoming to the neighborhood security officer or the local RT/RW.

5. If you have a pet, you should immediately place it in the pet storage area.

"If a fire or emergency occurs, immediately contact Jakarta Alert 112 or come directly to the nearest fire station. This service is free of credit and free of charge," he explained.
