Ten Teens Arrested During SOTR While Burning Flares On The Street

East Jakarta Metro Police managed to arrest 10 sahur on the road (SOTR) participants while crossing the Pulogebang area, Cakung, East Jakarta.

The teenagers were convoys using motorbikes carrying firecrackers that were thought to be used for brawls.

Dozens of teenagers were arrested for violating the Metro Jaya Police Chief's Decree regarding the ban on SOTR activities.

"We secure this because they procession on the highway which is very disturbing to the community and traffic order," said Head of Samapta Polres Metro East Jakarta, Kompol Capt. Hendra Wijaya when confirmed, Friday, April 5.

They were arrested for violating traffic rules and carrying beds, setting off firecrackers, flares, disturbing road users and frightening the public.

"There is nothing (Sajam), but they violate a lot of traffic, such as closing roads, congestion, not using helems, riding three rides. For those who commit traffic violations, we carry out a ticketing action," he said.

Even though they have been secured, the police will return the teenagers to their respective parents.

"We call their parents so they can supervise their children more," he said.
