DENPASAR - Bali Regional Police (Polda) declared the narrative of the long queue of vehicles as far as 13 kilometers on the route to Gilimanuk Harbor, Jembrana Regency, Bali as a hoax.

The Head of Public Relations of the Bali Police, Kombes Jansen Avitus Panjaitan, regretted the content circulating on social media regarding the situation at Gilimanuk Port.

Previously, according to Jansen, there was content uploaded by the TikTok account on Thursday (4/4) informing that there was a long queue of travelers 13 kilometers to Gilimanuk Harbor.

According to him, the upload of the account owner made the public uneasy, even though on that day, police personnel had carried out monitoring and the traffic flow was observed to be busy.

"There is no queue of vehicles up to 13 kilometers as circulated on social media. We will immediately monitor it in the field until the afternoon, there will be no long queues," said Jansen.

The Bali Police appealed to people who will return home through Gilimanuk Port not to easily believe if they receive information from social media whose truth is invalid.

"The video circulating that there is a long queue of up to 13 kilometers on April 4, 2024 is not true or a hoax," he said.

Kombes Jansen stated that regarding the security of the homecoming flow ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijriah, the Bali Police had been very carefully prepared by carrying out police operations with the code Operation Ketupat Agung 2024.

In areas prone to traffic jams, he said, the Bali Police had prepared security posts, service posts and integrated posts with 24-hour alert personnel.

"If there is traffic congestion, Polri personnel will immediately carry out traffic engineering and regulation," he said.

He revealed that the Bali Police also monitored the flow of homecoming through thousands of CCTVs that had been connected to the Bali Regional Police's Military Center.

"The point is that the Bali Police will all go out to secure the flow of homecoming and the backflow of Lebaran 1445 Hijri. Providing services so that people feel safe, comfortable and safe to their destination," said Jansen.
