20 Cattle Suddenly Died In Mukomuko, Agriculture Service: Due To Jembrana Disease

BENGKULU - The Agriculture Office of Mukomuko Regency in Bengkulu Province revealed the cause of death of 20 cattle in its area in the past month due to contracting Jembrana disease. "The results of our examination, cows that died in this area due to Jembrana disease," said Head of Public Health Veterinary and P2HP of the Agriculture Office of Mukomuko Regency Yeni Misra in Mukomuko, Friday, April 5, were confiscated by Antara. He said that this was in response to the circulation of photos and videos of dead cows in the Mukomuko City sub-district which was on Facebook social media and WhatsApp group. He denied that there was an allegation of the cause of death of the cow released by the owner due to being poisoned by the upset party seeing the cow being released in the oil palm plantation. "We have checked the carcass of the cow, and the cause is purely due to contracting Jembrana disease," he said. Regarding the large number of dead cows due to Jembrana in this area, there were even videos of residents who dumped the dead cattle into the river, he said, the agency prevented it because the carcass of the cow had been swept away into the river. "Not found in the river, it has indeed washed away, and even wanted to wash the cage but the cows are still in the cage," he said.

Kemudian mengenai video tersebut, sejumlah warga yang beternak sapi datang ke dinas ini untuk meminta solusi bagaimana dengan sapi yang masih hidup, bagaimana solusinya sapi yang ada di kandang, ada yang sakit ada yang sehat.Ia mengatakan, perbuatan membuang sapi mati akibat jembrana ke sungai tersebut dilarang oleh penyayang lingkungan dan pelakunya bisa terkena sanksi sesuai aturan yang berlaku.Selain itu, katanya, penyakit yang diderita oleh sapi mati yang dibuang ke sungai juga bisa menular ke sapi-sapi yang meminum air sungai.Selanjutnya, ia meminta kepada warga segera melaporkan hewan ternaknya yang terjangkit penyakit jembrana ke dinas ini agar diobati dan ternak yang belum terjangkit diberikan vaksin untuk mencegah ternak terjangkit penyakit ini.
