Four Ministers Jokowi Attend The Constitutional Court Session Today

JAKARTA - Four ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet and the Honorary Council of Election Organizers (DKPP) will attend the continued trial of the 2024 presidential election dispute at the Constitutional Court (MK) today.

"Tomorrow is the agenda for the trial to hear statements from the ministers that we have scheduled, including from the DKPP," said Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Suhartoyo before closing the trial for dispute over the results of the 2024 presidential election (PHPU), Thursday, April 4.

Suhartoyo said the trial was held at 08.00 WIB. Regarding this schedule, he asked the parties, namely applicants 1 and 2, the respondent, related parties, and Bawaslu to be present to hear what the constitutional judges would deepen.

"Keep the commitment not to ask questions, and only the judges will submit an in-depth investigation," said Suhartoyo.

Previously, the Head of the Legal Bureau of Administration and Marine Affairs of the Constitutional Court, Fajar Laksono, confirmed that four ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet would attend the Constitutional Court.

Fajar also said that DKPP Chairman Heddy Lugito would also attend.

The summons of the four ministers and the DKPP has been stated in the hearing on Monday (1/4).

The Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court explained that the summons for parties that needed to be heard was based on the results of the judge's deliberation meeting.

The four ministers in question are Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, and Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini.

Suhartoyo emphasized that the summons of the five parties categorized as important to hear his statement by the Constitutional Court was not a form of accommodation for applications from the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md camps.

"Because according to the universal discussion, the judiciary who held the interparticial trial then the nuance became partiality when accommodating the evidence requested by one party," said Suhartoyo.

He explained that the petition from the Anies-Muhaimin and Ganjar-Mahfud camps was actually rejected by the Constitutional Court. However, constitutional judges took their own stance to summon ministers and DKPP RI considering the position they held.

"The judges of choosing these parties are seen as important to hear at the trial which will hopefully be heard on Friday, April 5, 2024," said the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court.
