Kolaka Police Thwarts Smuggling Of 2 Kilograms Of Shabu From Medan

The Kolaka Resort Police (Polres), Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra) thwarted the smuggling of two kilograms of methamphetamine from Medan City, North Sumatra (North Sumatra).

Director of Narcotics Research at the Southeast Sulawesi Police, AKBP Ardiyanto Tedjo Baskor, said that from the results of the disclosure, one suspect with the initials HN (33) was arrested.

"The success of this disclosure was in collaboration between BNN Kolaka and the police, especially the Kolaka Police," said AKBP Ardiyanto, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, April 4. Based on the results of the interrogation, the HN perpetrator received an order from a person with the initials X, a prisoner at one of the Correctional Institutions (Lapas) in Bumi Anoa to pick up the methamphetamine package in Medan City, on March 20, 2024. "After successfully taking the methamphetamine package, on March 28, 2024, HN returned to Kolaka after being picked up by a car driver at Makassar Port, South Sulawesi (Sulsel)," he said. Then HN again received an order from X to bring the methamphetamine package alone to Batuganda Village, Lasusua District, North Kolaka Regency (Kolut).

While on the way, the BNN team immediately blocked the perpetrator's car, so the perpetrator immediately stepped on the gas and fled.

"There was a chase, the officers also gave warning shots," he said.

After successfully escaping from the officers' pursuit, the perpetrators went straight to the forest in Rante Limbung Village, Lasusua District and brought 20 packages of crystal methamphetamine each containing 100 grams of crystal methamphetamine.

"At the time in the forest, HN hid two packages of methamphetamine weighing 200 grams and then returned to Lana Village, Wolo District. In that place, HN again hid 18 packages of methamphetamine in a restaurant," he explained.

After hiding all the methamphetamine, HN immediately returned to Kolaka Regency and tried to trick the officers as if nothing had happened.

After an in-depth investigation by the Kolaka Police Narcotics Sat Team, his party found information on the victim's residence in Latambaga District, Kolaka Regency. At that moment, the team immediately arrested the perpetrator.

"When he was secured and interrogated, HN then took the officers to the place where he hid the 20 packages of crystal methamphetamine," he explained.

Currently, the HN and evidence of the 2 kilograms of methamphetamine have been secured at the Kolaka Police for further development.

The perpetrators will be subject to Article 113 of the Narcotics Law with a minimum prison sentence of 5 years and a maximum of 20 years, as well as a minimum fine of 1 billion rupiah and a maximum of Rp. 10 billion.
