JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo reviewed the availability of rice at the Bulog Pematang Kandis warehouse, Merangin Regency, Jambi, as well as handing over food assistance in the form of rice to the beneficiary community.

"Did you accept everything 10 kilos? I got a note earlier, there have been three times, but there are also new ones, right?" said the President in his dialogue with the beneficiary community, according to an official statement from the Press Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, April 3.

The President said the food assistance would continue until June 2024. However, the sustainability of aid after June will depend on the availability of the state budget (APBN).

"We'll see again if the APBN budget is sufficient, it will be continued in July, August, September October, November, December. I don't promise, but later if we reopen the APBN, we will continue until December," said the President.

One of the residents, Sarah, hopes that the food assistance can continue. According to her, the assistance is very useful for daily needs.

"Alhamdulillah, it was very helpful for this month of Ramadan, because (the price) of rice is also expensive, so Alhamdulillah, I am very grateful to Pak Jokowi. If he doesn't go directly like this, he won't know which residents need help," said Sarah.

Similarly, another resident, Sinur Murni also felt helped by the assistance because of his underprivileged economic condition. He also hopes to get other assistance.

"I'm grateful, I really don't have people, indeed I can't get PKH (family hope program), I only got this rice (assistance) 6 months, I've got it three times, I'm grateful," he said.
