Respect The People's Voice, PKB Legislators Want DPR Seats To Still Be Occupied By Election Winners

JAKARTA - Wasekjen DPP Partai Kebangkitan Bangsa (PKB) Syaiful Huda merespons kabar soal RUU tentang MPR, DPR, DPD, dan DPRD (UU MD3) yang masuk prolegnas. Hal ini muncul setelah isu bakal adanya revisi UU MD3 terkait jabatan ketua DPR.

Huda assessed that the party that won the election should be given respect to leading the DPR. At the same time, it is a tribute to the voice of the people who have chosen the candidate for choice.

"I am in the position of the political institutional process, one of which is to respect the fatsun of the people's votes. So I think the winning party still needs to be given respect to leading the DPR," said Huda at the DPR building, Wednesday, April 3.

Personally, Huda wants the party that wins the election to remain the chairman of the DPR RI. Although, he said, the PKB faction had not taken a stand regarding the revision of the MD3 Law.

"If I am personally asked, I am in a position to respect the political institutional process and one of them is the respect of the election winning party, it is important as a tradition for us to maintain political institutions," he said.

Previously, the Chairperson of the DPR, Puan Maharani, emphasized that the winning party for the 2024 Legislative Election (Pileg) was entitled to the seat of Chairman of the DPR for the next period. This is in accordance with the mandate of the Law on the MPR, DPR, DPD, and DPRD (UU MD3).

This affirmation was conveyed by Puan in response to the possibility of her re-serving as Chair of the DPR for the DPR period 2024-2029.

"The winner of the legislative election who should then be entitled to become chairman of the DPR, that's what I can convey," said Puan, Thursday, March 28.
