Chairman of the General Elections Commission (KPU) Hasyim Asy'ari explained the reason why his party did not answer the arguments of the applicants for the 2024 presidential election lawsuit as a whole.

In today's election results dispute hearing, KPU experts and witnesses only explained about the chaotic Recapitulation Information System (Sirekap).

According to Hasyim, other issues such as the nomination of Gibran Rakabuming Raka to become Prabowo Subianto's vice presidential candidate which was ratified by the KPU did not need to be clarified again.

"For the nomination, the KPU Decree has been tested. For example, it has been sued by several parties, in ptun. Then the second is about the vote acquisition, nothing is questioned, the vote acquisition," said Hasyim at the Constitutional Court building, Wednesday, April 3.

In today's trial, the issue of Sirekap's data acquisition became one of the petitioners' arguments to explain the KPU.

The KPU expert brought in explained the error in converting the vote acquisition number to Sirekap, one of which was due to the low quality resolution of the TPS officer's camera. Thus, it is difficult to read in the system.

A member of Anies-Muhaimin's legal team, Bambang Widjojanto, questioned why the experts and witnesses from the KPU only explained Sirekap.

"KPU only displays experts based on IT and Sirekap. What does that mean? In law, all of our petition arguments cannot be denied by the KPU, because he did not use the forum to account for the arguments we submitted," said Bambang.

Bambang emphasized that 11 arguments were included in Anies-Muhaimin's lawsuit. With the presentation of the KPU experts and witnesses today, Bambang assessed that the KPU deliberately did not answer the arguments of the other applicants.

"So we believe or conclude that the KPU deliberately did not answer our arguments through the expert examination process. Indeed, it is only an expert on IT, even though in our petition, we put IT at the very back," he said.
