Police Deploy 2 Helicopters 'Ambulan Air' During Lebaran Homecoming

JAKARTA - The National Police deployed 2 helicopters to deal with the flow of Eid homecoming and return in 2024. The helicopter was intended to evacuate victims in the event of a traffic accident.

"When for example in areas such as Merak, Bakauheni, Banten, West Java, Central Java, East Java or other areas that need this can be deployed," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, to reporters, Wednesday, April 3.

The deployment of the helicopter is to facilitate the evacuation process and shorten the travel time.

However, if an accident occurs in an area that is difficult to reach by a helicopter, the ground evacuation team will first approach the helicopter pick-up location.

"We don't expect anything, but in this case the Police anticipate. In Operation Ketupat 2024, we have the Banops Task Force and here there are doctors, nurses and crew from helicopters," he said.

Trunoyudo explained that the deployment of helicopters into air ambulances is one of the preventive and preemptive measures to anticipate events that require acceleration.

"Because the acceleration here is the most likely to evacuate victims who need help at speed," he said.

In addition, the National Police have also coordinated with several hospitals related to the deployment of helicopters into air ambulances including the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital, RSCM, Pertamina Hospital, Siloam Hospital, Cengkareng Hospital, Medistra Hospital, Soekanto Police Hospital, Koja Hospital, Cempaka Putih EMC Hospital and hospitals in all areas of the homecoming route.

The personnel who will be deployed in this one helicopter are 3 crew and 2 medical personnel. Later this helicopter will be on standby and ready to be contacted to locations that need assistance.

"The scheme will come from the Ketupat Operations Post, namely the Command Center in Korlantas, at KM 29 and KM 188 which will determine the movement if they need help deploying this helicopter," said Trunoyudo.
