Minister Of Transportation Map The Cipali-Merak-Ketapang Toll Road Krutial Points For Homecoming 2024

Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said that his party had mapped the Cipali Toll Road, Merak Port and Ketapang Port as three crucial points during the period of transportation of the homecoming flow and back to Lebaran 2024.

"Of the many meetings we have held, indeed we have mapped three land places that must be considered by one (Tol) Cipali, the second (Labuhan) Merak, the third (Labuhan) Ketapang," Budi said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 2.

Budi said that to overcome the three crucial points, his party had coordinated with the Ministry of PUPR, including with the Korlantas Polri.

"I will specifically mention Cipali because there is one movement or infrastructure for eight lanes to four lanes, even added (toll) Cisumdawu," said Budi.

For the Cipali Toll Road, said Budi, the Ministry of Transportation together with the Korlantas Polri will apply one direction (one way), or take part of the route from the opposite direction (contraflow), and odd-even if it has to be enforced, including having prepared a solution to the arterial road.

"We have already found a way out on arterial roads. We are coordinating the spilled market with the Police. Restana and buffer zones we operate and the police will deploy policewomen to make them more humane," explained Budi.

As for Merak and Ketapang Ports, the Ministry of Transportation has determined that travelers must buy verification tickets one day before departure. Including preparing parking bags so that there is no accumulation before departure.

"On Merak there is significant progress, we provide a note or the first condition that those who will go must buy a verification ticket one day before they go home. So if they goshow, we don't accept it," said Budi.

Then the Ministry of Transportation together with PUPR, and Korlantas Polri provide parking spaces for delay.

"So if we look at Merak, there are too many of us, we will play in several rest areas," explained Budi.

Previously, Budi advised people who wanted to return to their hometowns to do the Eid Al-Fitr 2024 homecoming early and so did when they returned to do it at the latest.

The Ministry of Transportation predicts that the peak of the homecoming flow will occur on D-4 to D-2 Lebaran. Therefore, he advised the public to go home immediately before the peak of the backflow.

"Our recommendation is homecoming on D-5 and beyond. We know the children's leave on April 4-16, so it is possible to return home early later," said Budi.

Budi also ensured that he had taken various steps and maximum efforts to serve the community during the transportation of homecoming and back to Lebaran in all transverse modes of transportation.

The Ministry of Transportation has prepared the best possible in dealing with Lebaran homecoming transportation, both from the feasibility of operations (ramp check) for transportation vehicles and other facilities and infrastructure.

In addition, coordinating with cross-sectors includes setting up a homecoming post which will be opened on April 3-18, so that people who go home can reach their hometowns even when they return home are safe and comfortable.
