JAKARTA - Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka's legal team asked the panel of judges at the Constitutional Court (MK) to summon the Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) Budi Gunawan to the 2024 presidential election dispute trial.

This was conveyed by a member of the Prabowo-Gibran legal team, Nicholay Aprilindo in the trial of the dispute over the results of the general election (PHPU) with the agenda of reading expert statements and fact witnesses from applicant 2, Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD.

"Earlier, we heard that there was a request from the candidate pair 3 attorney asking to be presented, a proposal, presented by the National Police Chief. We from related parties also propose if it is granted by the panel of judges, our proposal. We also ask to be presented by the Head of the State Intelligence Agency," Nicholay said at the Constitutional Court building, Tuesday, April 2.

Responding to this, Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Suhartoyo admitted that the court would discuss the proposal. However, whether or not it is considered from the needs of the panel of judges.

"Yes, it will be considered later. However, the real principle (proposed summons) was completed yesterday. Because, today it actually doesn't accept that, because later there will be no certainty that the steps will continue to be scheduled for this trial. But later we will discuss it with the judges," said Suhartoyo.

After the trial, the head of the Prabowo-Gibran legal team, Yusril Ihza Mahendra, explained the reason for his proposal for Budi Gunawan to have a balance and justice in fulfilling the request of the litigants.

"Yes, I think the discussion is all related to security, related to information on the implementation of elections, maybe all of that deserves to be heard," said Yusril.

However, it turned out that the Prabowo-Gibran team did not make a request for an official summons to the Head of BIN to be presented at the election dispute trial.

"Tdi kejalanan sudah mengatakan mereka sudah mengadakan rapat permusyawatan hakim dan memutuskan hanya akan menyerang empat. Jadi permintaan dari kua Pak Ganjar dan Pak Mahfud pun, untuk menghadirkan Kapolri tak akan diberimai oleh Mahkamah Konstitusi," tandasnya.
