Temanggung Students Win International Mathematics Champion In China

TEMANGGUNG - A grade III student at SD Al Kautsar Anantacetta Reugra Abiraya from Temanggung Regency, Central Java, won 3rd place in the Center Bay Area Mathematical Olympiad Final Round 2024 in Macau, China, on March 14, 2024.

Anantacetta Reugra Abiraya or Raya in Temanggung, Monday, said that he won the position after competing with students from various countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Filiphina, and China.

"I am indeed happy with math, before Macau I participated in many competitions and won in Semarang, Yogyakarta, Jakarta. When in Macau yesterday I participated in an exciting competition, many friends from other countries. I am preparing to take lessons and practice questions, every day it is about studying for three hours," he said after meeting the Acting Regent of Temanggung Hary Agung Prabowo as reported by ANTARA, Monday, April 1.

The student who was born on March 2, 2015, will compete again at the international level, namely the IMEC and JEO International Global Round in Sydney Australia on April 14, 2024.

Ajeng Primiana, a mother from Raya, said that since childhood her child had liked calculated, biological, and English lessons. Seeing his son's interest, he was then included in a group course and English.

"Indeed, if there is a Raya competition, but not just because we want our child to win, but so that this child has a mental match. This is honed from the matches. More than 20 matches he always wins and dares to try to join the international one. If the one to Macau is preparation for 3 months, every day there are drilling questions," he said.

Acting Regent of Temanggung Hary Agung Prabowo appreciated Raya's achievements and gave his blessing for the competition to be taken in Sydney Australia.

"On behalf of the government and the people of Temanggung, I appreciate the achievements of one of our children at SD Al Kautsar who got bronze at the international level in Macau. This is a proud achievement for Temanggung Regency. So we must support the talents that we must support and I am sure that many Temanggung children will excel, later it's just a matter of collaboration, our transparency is shared between the Temanggung Regency Government and the elements of the world of education," he said.
