Hasto Calls Prabowo-Megawati No Personal Problems But Meetings Are Not A Priority

Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto said the personal relationship between the general chairman, Megawati Soekarnoputri and the General Chair of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto, was fine. There are no problems between the two although the roads are different during the 2024 presidential election.

This was conveyed by Hasto in response to the news of the meeting between two figures who had been paired during the 2009 presidential election. Hasto said, he had often said that Megawati and Prabowo had never had problems.

"Regarding the meeting between Pak Prabowo and Mrs. Megawati, I have repeatedly conveyed to the press that there are no personal problems," Hasto told reporters at the Media Center TPN Ganjar-Mahfud, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Monday, April 1.

Even so, Hasto did not want to talk about the meeting between the two figures. He said, there are more important things, namely making various legal efforts to prove fraud during the 2024 presidential election.

"The current priority scale for the PDI-P is to make various legal and political efforts and then communication will continue to be carried out properly," he said.

Previously, the Chairman of the East Java PDI-P Regional Leadership Council (PDIP), MH Said Abdullah, revealed that Megawati might meet Prabowo after the 2024 election dispute trial at the Constitutional Court (MK) was over. However, he asked the public to be patient.

"We are patient because we are waiting for the Constitutional Court process. Don't rush," said Said when met at the East Java PDIP DPD office, Sunday, March 31 evening.

This meeting will be preceded by the Chairman of the PDIP DPP who is also the Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani. It is believed that Megawati-Prabowo will be disbursed when they meet because there is no problem between these two parties.

"Mrs. Mega as the winner of the legislative election, Mr. Prabowo Subianto as the winner of the presidential election. God willing, long before the meeting, Mbak Puan Maharani will meet later after the Constitutional Court's decision," he concluded.
