PDIP Has A Coalition With Gerindra-Golkar In The 2024 Pilkada

Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto said his party opened options for a coalition with the Gerindra Party and the Golkar Party in the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada).

It is known that the PDI-P (PDIP) chose a different path from the two parties called Hasto during the 2024 presidential election. The party bearing the symbol of a white-nosed bull chose to carry the former Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo as a presidential candidate paired with former Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD.

Meanwhile, the Gerindra Party and the Golkar Party are members of the coalition supporting Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

"Political dynamics at the national level with political dynamics in the provinces, regencies/cities are different," Hasto told reporters at the Media Center TPN Ganjar-Mahfud, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Monday, April 1.

Hasto said that at the pilkada level, political parties must have at least 20 percent support according to the laws and regulations. Thus, political cooperation must be carried out.

"The election has a more local perspective. So that cooperation is indeed possible with Gerindra, Golkar, PPP, Perindo, Hanura," he said.

"Because don't forget that PPP, Perindo, Hanura also have many seats at the provincial and district/city levels," he continued.

For information, the 2024 Pilkada stage starts from 27 February-16 November with the implementation of notifications and registration of election monitoring. Later, regional head candidates can register on 27-29 August.

Then the candidates who have been determined will carry out the campaign from September 25 to November 23. The voting was then carried out on November 27 which was followed by calculating and recapitulating the results of the voting.
