BOGOR - The City Government (Pemkot) of Bogor, West Java, installed signs for stopping city transportation (angkot) at 10 points ahead of the trial in early April 2024.

Bogor Mayor Bima Arya Sugiarto said there will be 30 points for stopping electric angkots that will be tested on the Cidangiang-Suryakencana route. The details are 20 points in the existing shelter, and 10 new points installed today.

"This is history for Bogor City, the first electric angkot in Indonesia. We will test five units. So this is the first time angkots have stopped carelessly," Bima Arya was quoted as saying by ANTARA, Friday, March 29.

These five electric angkot units will replace 10 conventional angkot units. However, according to Bima, these five electric angkot units cannot be claimed to reduce congestion.

"But later if this goes smoothly, the trial is six months, after that if it runs smoothly, everything will be converted. Later there will be conversions to Biskita, some will become electric angkots," he also said.

Head of the Bogor City Transportation Service (Dishub) Marse Hendra Saputra said, currently in Bogor City there are 30 conventional angkot routes.

It is hoped that after the electric angkot trial is successful, in the future other routes can also use electric angkots.

"If you hope for all the routes in Bogor City. Hopefully in the future all routes can use electric angkots. Gradually maybe, one or two," said Marse.

In this trial in the next six months, his party will calculate how much battery resistance and how much profit it will be. This electricity angkot fare is worth IDR 5 thousand per trip, using the Tap on Bus (TOB) system using an electronic payment card.

"Right now, it's because of the trial. So we can both calculate how the advantages, advantages, disadvantages are. So that later we will convert it to angkot entrepreneurs, that's a good thing, and it's profitable," said Marse.
