Hundreds Of Congregations Follow The Procession Of The Good Friday Cross Road At The Cathedral

JAKARTA - Public Relations Officer (Humas) of the Archdiocese of Jakarta and the Cathedral Church, Susyana Suwadie stated that as many as 500 congregations attended the procession of the Way of the Cross of Good Friday worship at the Tri Holy Day celebration at the Jakarta Cathedral Church.

"If the Way of the Cross is usually not like mass or worship, the main thing is, because this is an introductory reflection. For the Way of the Cross in the morning and we can see maybe about 500 people," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, March 29.

Susy said that today the Cathedral Church entered worship called Good Friday, one of which included an reflection procession, namely about the sad story of the death of Christ or called the Way of the Creative Cross.

He explained that the procession of the Creative Cross was played by approximately 60 young people at the Cathedral Church with 25 of them being actors, while the rest included directors and crew.

The main meaning of the procession of the Way of the Cross is to invite people to reflect on the story of the passion of Jesus Christ who eventually died on the cross to make up for the sins of mankind.

"This year, the Creative Cross Road carries a few musicals, which is 30 percent," said Susy.

After the procession of the Way of the Cross, the Good Friday service at the Tri Holy Day celebration of Easter at the Cathedral Church will be continued with three masses, namely at 12.00, 15.00, and 18.00 WIB.

His party has provided 2,700 seats for congregants who wish to carry out mass at the Cathedral Church with 800 seats, including those in the church.
