Ministry Of Transportation Predicts Movement From Jabodetabek In Eid 2024 Capai 28.4 Million People

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) said the potential movement of people from Jabodetabek in Lebaran 2024 is estimated at 84.27 percent or 28.4 million people.

"The potential movement from Jabodetabek is quite high, which is estimated at the 2024 Eid homecoming of around 84.27 percent or 28.4 million people," said Director of Road Traffic of the Directorate General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation, Ahmad Yani in Jakarta, Thursday, March 28, quoted by Antara.

According to him, the potential for this movement is estimated to increase compared to the potential movement of people from Jabodetabek in Lebaran 2023 of around 54.31 percent or as many as 18.3 million people.

The five choices of modes of transportation from the potential movement of people from Jabodetabek this year, namely trains around 29.05 percent, buses around 27.76 percent, private cars around 15.03 percent, and motorbikes around 9.02 percent, ferry boats around 5.72 percent.

Jabodetabek is the second most travel origin area after East Java at this year's Eid homecoming.

"Where is the goal? The goal is at most to Central Java. Central Java is the center of the movement of our people to go home," said Ahmad Yani.

While the next most homecoming destinations are East Java, West Java, DI Yogyakarta and DKI Jakarta.

The most car lane choices are from the potential movement of people from Jabodetabek in Lebaran 2024, namely the Trans Java Toll Road at 31.37 percent or 11.10 million

"Therefore, we both have to anticipate more deeply to achieve the same thing, at least the same as last year. Our hope is that the level of public trust will increase compared to last year," said Ahmad Yani.

For information, the Ministry of Transportation emphasized that transportation infrastructure is ready to support the smooth flow of Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijri so that congestion does not occur.

Transportation infrastructure is ready to anticipate high mobility during the homecoming period, especially through toll roads. Transportation operators do not make ticket purchases, so handling will continue to be monitored.
