Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Hadi Tjahjanto stated that he would form a special team to handle the alleged case of the Trafficking in Persons (TPPO) under the guise of an internship program to Germany.

"Yes, we will definitely form a special team later," said Hadi after gathering with the leaders of the Al-Munawwir Islamic Boarding School, Krapyak, Sewon, Bantul, DI Yogyakarta as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 27.

The Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs has encouraged a number of universities, one of which is the Jakarta State University (UNJ) to immediately resolve the TIP case under the guise of an internship to Germany that befell a number of students.

Hadi also promised to provide assistance so that the problems that are being experienced by students abroad can be resolved soon.

"I believe in hard work and we will also give encouragement to solve this problem," he said.

Currently, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs admits that he is still re-examining the data of universities whose students are suspected of being victims of TIP under the guise of an internship to Germany or the "ferient job".

"We have discussed with the deputy for this problem to be resolved properly, so that it does not drag on," said Hadi Tjahjanto.

The Ministry of Education and Culture is currently reviewing the imposition of sanctions on 33 universities involved in TIP with the mode of internship programs for students to Germany or "ferient jobs".

Director General of Higher Education, Research and Technology of the Ministry of Education and Culture Abdul Haris emphasized that the ferry job program does not meet the criteria that can be categorized as the Merdeka Belajar Campus Merdeka (MBKM) activity, and has been clarified since October 27, 2023 through the Circular Letter of the Director General of Higher Education and Research and Technology.
