The patrol team from the East Flores Polairud Unit, East Nusa Tenggara Police managed to arrest a man with the initials LOJ alias JUM who was caught carrying and selling 200 detonators for explosives at the Palo Beach People's Port, East Flores Regency.
Head of the Polairud Law Enforcement Sub-Directorate of the NTT Police, AKBP Hendra Dorizen, said that he came directly from Sulawesi to sell the detonator.
"The 200 detonator rods were found in the small bag he was carrying and were still in packaging," he told reporters in Kupang as reported by Antara, Tuesday, March 26.
The man who was arrested was not from East Flores Regency, but had his address at Dongkala, Sampolawa District, South Buton Regency, North Sulawesi Province.
LOJs who came to Larantuka were known to be selling explosives for fishermen in the area. Currently, LOJs are still being held at e Manit Polairud Flotim for further legal proceedings.
Police themselves suspect that there are even bigger sellers involved in the case of the discovery of the 200 detonators.
"We are still investigating this case further," he said.
In addition to the 200 detonators found during the arrest of LOJ on Monday (25/3) yesterday, the police also found a number of evidences in the form of cash amounting to Rp3.9 million.
LOJ snares under Article 1 paragraph (1) of the Emergency Law number 12 of 1951 concerning Senpi and Handak. He was also threatened with 20 years in prison, life imprisonment and the death penalty.
