The Prosecutor's Office Has Determined That The Head Of The Gorontalo City PUPR Office Is A Suspect In SPAM Corruption

The prosecutor's office named the Head of the Gorontalo City Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency with the initials RB as a suspect in the alleged corruption case in the work of optimizing the Dungingi Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM), Gorontalo City, for the 2022 fiscal year.

The head of the Gorontalo City District Attorney's Office, Edy Hartoyo, said Monday that RB was named a suspect after undergoing an examination for about six hours in the prosecutor's investigator's room and was immediately detained at the Gorontalo State Detention Center (Rutan).

"Kejari Kota Gorontalo telah melakukan penahanan terhadap tersangka RB selaku pengguna anggaran dan Kadis PUPR Kota Gorontalo," kata Edy dilansir ANTARA, Senin, 25 Maret.

RB is the seventh suspect in a case of alleged corruption in the work of optimizing the Dungingi Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM), Gorontalo City, for the 2022 budget year.

Previously, the prosecutor's investigators had named and detained six suspects, namely MYAselaku menjadi Direktur PT Raya Synergis, RCT dan MREP selaku pihak yang terlibat dalam pelaksanaan proyek, HRNselaku Ketua Tim Supervision CV NK, kemudian ZM selaku kuasa pengguna anggaran, dan DA yang diketahui adalah seorang pejabat teknis kegiatan.

"With this detention warrant, the suspect RB will be detained for 20 days at the Gorontalo Detention Center," said Kajari.

Edy said the suspects would be charged with Article 2 subsidiary Article 4 of the Corruption Eradication Law with a threat of imprisonment for 15 years or life.

RB suspect's attorney, Roman Bobihoe, said that his party found that there were several irregularities in the case involving his client. However, he and several other RB legal advisers will appreciate the ongoing legal process.

"But, for sure, we lawyers will apply for a suspension of detention. There are still other things we do," he added.
