The South Sumatra Regional Police (Polda) handled the shooting and stabbing of two debt collectors (religious collectors) carried out by unscrupulous police officers in their jurisdiction.
The Head of Public Relations of the South Sumatra Police, Kombes Sunarto, said that the act of mistreatment of Aiptu (FN) personnel using softgun firearms and sharp weapons made a public scene.
"We have published a wanted list (DPO) for Aiptu FN. Then this case became the attention of the leadership and we have coordinated with his family and FN was asked to surrender so that he could undergo further processes," he said during a press conference in Palembang, Antara, Sunday, March 24.
Dirreskrimum Polda Sumsel Kombes M Anwar Reksowidjojo added that the alleged persecution began with the Aiptu FN car which was known to have been in arrears of installments for two years.
When meeting debt collectors who collect in the parking lot of one of the malls, Saturday, March 23, Aiptu FN carried out persecution and shooting.
"There are two victims from debt collectors who are currently still under medical treatment at the hospital. Meanwhile, these police officers are still being pursued, both from regional units (satwil) and the ranks of the South Sumatra Regional Police including the Palembang Polrestabes," he explained.
He added that currently his party is still taking persuasive actions against the families of FN elements to surrender.
"We do that to reveal what really happened. This pursuit is also carried out to make light of a form of crime and to know the facts that happened at the crime scene, as previously stated," he said.
Then for the debt collector report to the police officer, it is linked to Article 351 paragraph 2 which is a severe persecution with a threat of five years in prison.
Meanwhile, evidence of a white Toyota Avanza with number B 1919 DTT belonging to Aiptu FN has been secured at the South Sumatra Police Headquarters.
The car was parked in the yard of the Provost Bid Propam Polda South Sumatra, after DS, wife of Aiptu FN reported a case of confiscation and beating her husband.
Previously, an unscrupulous police officer attacked two debt collectors using firearms and sharp weapons in a mall parking lot in Palembang.
As a result of the incident, the victim suffered stab wounds with sharp weapons. One of the victims is currently still under medical treatment at Siloam Sriwijaya Hospital, Palembang.
