PPP Opens Doors If Prabowo Wants To Stay In Touch

JAKARTA - The United Development Party (PPP) opens the door for the possibility of the arrival of elected presidential candidates in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres) Prabowo Subianto and the Gerindra Party to the PPP Central Leadership Council (DPP) Office.

PPP DPP chairman Achmad Baidowi said Islam taught that friendship was highly recommended for opening the door to fortune, so he would welcome and be very honored if Gerindra cadres, especially Prabowo, wanted to come to PPP headquarters.

"Until now, our position is waiting, we do not limit who wants to stay in touch. Anyone can go to PPP, especially Prabowo and the Gerindra Party," said the man who is familiarly called Awiek when met at the Constitutional Court Building (MK), Jakarta, Saturday, March 23 evening.

So far, said Awiek, informal communication between party officials has occurred regarding the PPP meeting with Gerindra. But from Gerindra's statement, he said, there was a desire to stay in touch with PPP.

With the plan to stay in touch with the Gerindra Party, Awiek admitted that he did not want to make assumptions about his future plans, especially regarding the position of PPP, which is one of the parties supporting the National Winning Team (TPN) Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD.

The reason, he said, was that PPP was still focused on the dispute over the results of the 2024 General Election (Pemilu) in the Constitutional Court. If the Constitutional Court's decision had been issued regarding the election dispute, he said that the PPP would only decide the next plan.

"I think it's about friendship, political communication, it's fine. That's the beauty of democracy in Indonesia," he said.

Awiek emphasized that in democracy, all parties can compete and contest, but must not have a grudge. After the election is over, he emphasized that all parties can make peace and build the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia for the progress of the nation.

Thus, he continued, political relations as well as political communication between elements of the nation are good things and are teachings of civilized democracy for the Indonesian people.
