Prabowo-Gibran Wins Presidential Election, Anies Alludes To Leaders Born From Fraud

JAKARTA - Presidential and vice-presidential candidates number 01 Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar responded to the final results of the KPU plenary session.

Anies emphasized the importance of prosea rather than the final result, where an honest and clean process will be legitimized by all.

"Today the KPU has issued an official announcement whose results are in the KPU version we have heard together. However, in an election, the process is no less important than the final result," Anies said in a written statement, Wednesday, March 20.

According to Anies, without a credible process, legitimacy of elected candidates or decisions can cause doubt. So maintaining the integrity of the election process is fundamental for the continuity of democracy and the fulfillment of the aspirations of the people as a whole.

"Ladies and gentlemen, leaders born from processes tarnished by fraud and irregularities will produce a regime that produces policies that are full of injustice and we don't want this to happen," said Anies.

Anies assessed that in the principle of a modern democracy, when we look at abnormality and irregularities, it is not by applicating the public.

"The steps we are taking are not getting angry and making initiatives to the public, but our step is to gather all the evidence to be brought to justice. We want this country to continue to build political maturity, not back and forth near the pre-reforming period," he explained.

Although Anies realized that there were parties who tried to degrade the constitutional business of the AMIN national team as well as many parties also suggested not to file a lawsuit for irregularities because of the possibility of getting small justice, these various irregularities according to Anies could not be tolerated.

"We emphasize, we don't want to let these various democratic irregularities pass without a record and set a bad precedent for all future election organizers, both at the national level and hundreds of regional elections and the first and second stages of the legislative elections," he explained.

"We are aware, in the current situation, the possibility of getting justice feels very small. Various state institutions related to the implementation of elections and dispute resolution have been coordinated by individuals who are proven to have violated ethics, some even have their heads repeatedly received warnings but are still allowed to carry out their roles," he continued.

Not only that, Anies also invited all to continue the struggle and support the steps of the legal team so that whatever the findings will be historical facts of this nation

"Let's continue to run this struggle by upholding ethics, maintaining peace and unity. We support the steps of the legal team, and let all the findings presented later become a historical record that is officially recorded in the sheets of the minutes of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia," Anies said.

"Whatever destiny has been determined by later, we will continue to accompany the movement of change. God willing, this movement will continue to roll bigger in the future, and bring good and necessary changes to this nation," he said.

In line with Anies, Muhaimin Iskandar also felt that throughout the course of this presidential election, his party found so many irregularities, shortcomings, and neglects of an unnatural process that had never occurred before in the history of this nation.

"It is common knowledge that we have encountered these various shortcomings long before voting day, ranging from regulatory engineering to intervention of state tools, and all of this has become a media note as well as a public note," he explained.

Moreover, since advancing in the contestation, the AMIN pair has brought a change mission, brought justice and prosperity to all, re-established democracy and fulfilled the reform promises. And based on the records from the KPU earlier, there were tens of millions of people who left their voices to AMIN.

"So, in order to fight for the voices of those who believe in change and remain steadfast until the end, we have decided to ask the AMIN National Team Legal Team to go to the Constitutional Court and convey to the panel of judges and the wider public the various shortcomings and irregularities that occurred during the presidential election process this time," said Cak Imin.
