Adding Again, Positive COVID-19 In Indonesia Has Reached 96

JAKARTA - Positive cases of the corona virus or COVID-19 have increased again. The Government Spokesperson for the Handling of the Corona Virus, Achmad Yurianto, said that as of Saturday, March 14 afternoon, there were 96 positive cases of COVID-19.

"Today's update, the total number of positive cases is 96 per day, from yesterday we reported 69, now to 96. There are 27 new cases added," said Yurianto at a press conference for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19 at Graha BNPB, Jakarta, Saturday.

The addition, he said, was obtained from contact tracing or 'tracing' which was carried out massively. Of the 96 positive cases of COVID-19, five patients died.

Of the five patients who died, four patients came from the first 69 positive cases found, namely patient number 25, patient case 35, patient case 36 and patient case 50.

While one case that died was a patient outside the 69 positive cases of COVID-19 that were previously identified. However, Yurianto did not explain the gender and age of the patient who died.

He said the distribution has now widened in a number of areas, namely DKI Jakarta, Bandung, Tangerang, Solo, Yogyakarta, Bali, Manado, Pontianak,

"And now we are tracing other places," he said.

Previously, President Joko Widodo assigned the Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Doni Monardo as Chair of the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling Corona Virus Disease 2019 to tackle the spread of the virus that causes COVID-19.

Based on Article 3 of Presidential Decree Number 7 of 2020, the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19 has five objectives, namely, first, to increase national resilience in the health sector. Second, accelerate the handling of the corona virus through synergies between ministries / agencies and local governments.

Third, increase the anticipation of the development of the escalation of the spread of COVID-19. Fourth, increasing the synergy of operational policy making.

Fifth, increase preparedness and ability to prevent, detect and respond to COVID-19.
