North Sumatra Police Confiscate 209 Kilograms Of Methamphetamine During January-March 2024

The North Sumatra Police confiscated evidence weighing 209.4 kilograms of methamphetamine from the results of the disclosure during January to mid-March 2024.

"In addition, other evidence, namely 211.5 kilograms of marijuana, in the form of marijuana trees and 59,175 ecstasy pills," said Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police, Kombes Hadi Wahyudi in Medan, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, March 18.

In addition to the confiscated drug evidence, the North Sumatra Police also confiscated 171 motorcycles, 16 cars, two motorized rickshaws, Rp145,692,000 in cash, 476 mobile phones, 103 digital scales, and 91 bong sets.

"In the disclosure as many as 912 cases with a total of 1,254 people being arrested consisting of 151 users and 1,103 people networks," said the Head of Public Relations

Among these cases, the North Sumatra Police Narcotics Directorate Team arrested two suspected couriers of 3.8 kilograms (kg) of methamphetamine at Kualanamu International Airport, Deli Serdang Regency to be taken to Sulawesi.

"The perpetrators who were arrested had the initials AK (24) and MH (29) Acehnese with evidence confiscated 16 plastic packages containing methamphetamine weighing 3.8 kilograms," said Hadi, Wednesday (23/2).

The evidence was distributed from Aceh to Central Sulawesi via Kualanamu International Airport with the first departure to Palu.
