TANJUNG SELOR - A resident of the Indonesia-Malaysia Border in Kayan Aahu, Malinau Regency, North Kalimantan (Kaltara) complained about the lack of fuel oil (BBM) supply to the Kayan Apau area which has 4 sub-districts.

A member of the Kaltara DPRD, Ihin Surang, said that the lack of fuel supply had been going on for almost two years.

"There are four sub-districts in the Kayan Apau area where fuel difficulties are in Kayan Hulu District, Kayan Hilir District, South Kayan District and Sungai Boh District," said Ihin Surang, Monday, March 18.

Due to the difficulty of getting Premium fuel, residents were forced to buy it at a price of Rp. 25 thousand per liter.

"That too if there is fuel. This condition hampers many local community activities," he explained.

Ihin asked the government and Pertamina to follow up on the problems experienced by the border residents. In addition, the one-price fuel program sourced from the APBN has not yet been maximally distributed.

"Only with air transportation can be maximized, because the road access to Kayan Apau is badly damaged and difficult to cross," he said.
