Bawaslu: Trial Of Complete Violations Before Determination Of Election Results

JAKARTA - Bawaslu member Lolly Suhenty said his institution was committed to completing the trial for violations before the determination of the results of the 2024 General Election.

"That's right, in this context we are trying to make a decision as soon as the 20th (March 2024), before the determination," said Lolly at the KPU building as reported by ANTARA, Monday, March 18.

Lolly explained that Bawaslu would complete the entire trial related to the 2024 General Election as soon as possible.

"That's why we did everything quickly. The trial was also not only conducted on weekdays, but we did it on holidays as long as the parties agreed. Well, that's what we did," he said.

Bawaslu did target that before March 20, 2024, the entire trial could be finalized. However, there are exceptions for a number of cases.

"Except for cases that are indeed more complex in nature, so the decision cannot be carried out before the 20th. Of course we must also respect the ongoing process at the Constitutional Court, but in principle we maximize the ongoing efforts at the Indonesian Bawaslu," said Lolly.

Based on the Plenary Meeting on the Recapitulation of National Level Vote Accounting Results conducted by the KPU from Wednesday (28/2) to Monday (4/3), the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka pair won 427,871 votes in 128 regions of the Overseas Election Committee (PPLN).

In second place is Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar with 125,110 votes, and the last position is Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD who received 118,385 votes.

Meanwhile, based on the national recapitulation as of Saturday (9/3) to Sunday (17/3) at 23.59 WIB, the Indonesian KPU has approved the vote acquisition for the presidential election at 33 provinces at the national level.
