TANGERANG - Pakuhaji District Community, Tangerang Regency, Banten, hopes that the local government can immediately repair the Cisadane bridge, Kalibaru, whose condition is starting to worry or almost collapse.

"The collapse of the Cisadane Bridge endangers road users, especially people who are active through the bridge every day," said Chairman of the North Tangerang Maju Community Forum (FMTUM) H. Jusin Sueb in Tangerang, Sunday.

According to him, the condition of the bridge, which is the main access of the local community, is currently worrying because the edge of the bridge has collapsed and the bottom of the concrete has collapsed. In addition, the floor or asphalt at the top is cracked and broken.

"The age of the bridge is old because it was built in the 1990s. This causes the construction of the Cisadane Bridge body to be fragile and is no longer feasible to pass, either by four-wheeled vehicles, let alone trucks," he said.

Therefore, his party urged the Tangerang Regency Government and the Banten Provincial Government to immediately find solutions, to repair bridges and build new roads as alternatives.

He revealed that the construction or improvement of alternative convex roads along the past 12 km is considered important as a link between Tangerang Regency and Tangerang City.

"That can later become a provincial road to unravel congestion and become one of the accesses from Pakuhaji District to Soekarno-Hatta Airport and Soekarno-Hatta Airport Toll Road," he said.

Meanwhile, the Technical Implementation Officer at the Tangerang Road and Bridge Management (PJJ) UPTD, the Banten Province Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Abdul Rohim confirmed the damage to the Cisadane Kalibaru Bridge.

He stated that the results of the field review showed structural damage to the bridge plate foundation on the Cisadane Bridge pier Kalibaru.

"To minimize the risk of additional damage, large vehicles will be diverted to other lanes," he said.

Since Saturday, March 16, 2024, vehicles loaded with 8 tons and above have been banned from crossing the Kalibaru Bridge to minimize the risk of further damage.
