JAKARTA - Member of the House of Representatives Baleg from the Democratic Party faction, Herman Khaeron, suggested that there be norms that regulate the specificity of Jakarta if it is no longer the nation's capital. Herman wants specialties to hold back the pace of living expenses in Jakarta. This was conveyed by Herman in a meeting of the DPR Baleg with the government and DPD RI in the discussion of the DIM Bill on the Province of the Special Region of Jakarta (RUU DKJ), at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, today. "Because if not, Jakarta will become a special city with money. Maybe it will be a bit difficult for us to live in Jakarta, therefore there must also be a norm which in my opinion is a speciality that Jakarta can maintain cultural values, this Betawi may be difficult to find again," said Herman at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, March 15. "Here only Mpok Sylvi exists, maybe. Pak Supratman is no longer a person, I am no longer a Betawi person," he added. In addition, Herman continued, Jakarta must also protect indigenous culture. Because according to him, the development of an area will affect the increasing standard of living and purchasing power of its citizens. "In the end, this will motivate real communities to be historical wealth that must be maintained, one is yes, in particular it must be able to maintain historical wealth," he said. Second, the particularity of Jakarta as an agglomeration area. According to him, it can be combined, for example, Jakarta, the administrative government still uses full autonomy. "Because if this agglomeration scheme does not work to stop the well-organized environmental situation, I don't think it meets the criteria for special areas," he explained.

"If the administrative system uses full autonomy, will the mayor and regent also be elected? The DPRD is not only at the provincial level, but also at the mayor and regent levels, I think it is possible. This is to be able to grow peculiarities in DKI Jakarta, in addition to agglomeration in line with other areas, of course there are specialities that must be built here.
